Black Leaders in TV

"The latest Diamond data reinforces what Black Leaders in TV has been hearing from professionals across the industry. While representation has improved in some areas, progress for Black professionals, particularly in senior off-screen roles, remains slow and, in some cases, is moving backwards. Data tells us who is in the room. It doesn't tell us who has influence, who is being retained, who is progressing or whose ideas are shaping the stories we see on screen.

Our Black in Focus research found that the biggest concern among Black professionals is the lack of visible Black leadership. That matters because representation without progression is not equity. The challenge now is not simply to widen the door, but to ensure talented people can build long, sustainable careers and reach positions where they can commission, lead and create lasting change. We welcome Diamond's continued transparency because evidence drives accountability, but the next chapter must be about turning insight into action."
